Frequently Asked Questions
Our Ask a CTO service is available to clients who have completed their Business Baseline onboarding with us after selecting one of our service packages.
If you wish to try out our Ask a CTO service ahead of onboarding then we do offer a non-client service which is similar – find our more here.
The costs to our services are provided prior to us providing any activity, these are non committal. Depending on the package you either ask a set number of questions you can ask on a monthly basis (with the option to ask more), or can access the service on a pay as you go basis.
We answer lots of questions without restriction, however sometimes there might be questions that are too specific, don’t relate to technology or IT governance or we cannot answer for legal reasons. If we receive a question we cannot answer there is never a charge for these. We indicate why we cannot answer this using our Ask a CTO service, if the question is too specific we can often optionally offer one of our technologists to support you directly.
We can answer general IT governance and technology questions – often signposting you to guidance, advice and tools to help provide an answer. Where relevant we might direct you to one of your suppliers/team who we understand is responsible for that in your business. Optionally if you would like additional support or to speak in person then this is available.
Our answer can be downloaded/saved as a PDF along with some of the general advice/guidance we link to.
The more specific you can be, often the better the answer we can provide. A broad question will provide a broad response which might not be what you need. You can ask multiple questions of course, the most common questions are often – where do I start as I .. for example where do I start as I need to choose a CRM.
Depending on the question we will be answering the question with regards to the information we know about your business. Why not share our service with your colleagues, associates or network – we offer varying items for each new business you refer that signs up on one of our packages.
Our Ask a CTO service is a form of consultancy, we can answer questions to help you make the decisions – we cannot make the decisions for you. Our answers are based on the information we know about you and our best practices.
He is highly knowledgeable and takes the time when necessary to explain things in layman’s terms so I actually understand what he means.
